Frequent Questions

I have hundreds of parents of children with Aspergers just like you visit the site daily.  Some join immediately and some join the FREE tip of the week and keep coming back.  Others send me a question using the contact us form.

The questions that I receive from non members are varied but there are some common questions that get asked so, here are some answers that potential members want to ask...

Q.  How secure is the site?

I take security very seriously and this site has 128 bit encryption the most secure the web has to offer at the moment. I have a business merchant account with the HSCB bank. The website also has security accreditation by Security Metrics - You can see the full security certificate by clicking here. And Geotrust SSL certification too! So you can rest assured that your security is a huge priority.

Q.  How often is your site updated?

The site is updated throughout the week.  Typically, I add new content in the form of articles, strategies and other parenting infromation eack week.  As a minimum you'll find two new articles and strategies each week, but often there is much more.  In the Aspergers forum there are questions on a daily basis, so there is always something new to read on there daily.

Q.  Can I cancel my membership at anytime, and what about refunds?

Yes, you are in complete control of your account and can cancel at any time.  Once you become a member of Parenting Aspergers Community you have total control over how long you want to be a member for.

You don't need to rely on me to cancel your subscription if you no longer want to be a member you can cancel it yourself (but of course I'll help you if you need it).  I do this so you are in total control of your membership.

There are no refunds applicable as it is made very clear to everyone who joins that this is a paid membership site with recurring billing. The only refunds that would occur are in the very unlikley event of an over-charging error on the credit card charging facility associated with this site - in which case any such issue would be refunded immediately.

Q.  How are you qualified to help me parent my child with Aspergers?

I am a social worker with over 12 years real life experience in the field working with families just like yours and a Masters Degree in Applied Social Studies.

Over the past twelve years I have worked with hundreds of families who have had children with special needs (both young and old) and have a special interest in Aspergers and ASD.

I am the author of the "Parenting Aspergers Resource Guide" E-book (Volumes 1 and 2) which is a guide for parents of children with Asperger's Syndrome ... and the last time that I checked I have had over 364,936 parents and family members of Aspergers children visit this website for help.

So I am confident that this experience means that The Parenting Aspergers Community will be able to understand you and your own personal situation and offer you clear and practical help to improve it.

Q.  Is there any special software that I need to download?

No.  We provide all our information in standard formats.

For example, all pages are available in a printer friendly format.  So if your short on time, you can find an article, print it out and then read it later at your convenience.  Try one out in the sample Aspergers articles.

Most PC's have a Flash player loaded which is what we use to deliver most of our video and multimedia content.

 Q.  What is your mission statment?

The mission of Parenting Aspergers Community is to make a positive difference in the lives of  parents who have children with Aspergers; by  ensuring that they can access the specialist information and support that they need to help them in their day-to-day parenting role.

This will be done by providing a specialist website with information in the form of articles, video and audio presentations across a wide range of topics. There is also a community forum at the heart of the website to allow parents to communicate directly with other parents and professionals to gain support and advice.

It is the belief of Parenting Aspergers Community that parents deserve to be given the best possible chance to parent their child with Aspergers; and that being able to access specialist support and advice is an essential part of this.
